I have a 1995 wrangler 5 speed. what should the oil pressure be? It was reading 50 and now is reading 60. I let it warm up tonite and when I got in to leave the check engine lite was on. I drove about 1 mile and shut it off for about 10 minutes and when I started it again the light was off. But the oil pressure has me worried. The oil and filter wrer changed about 2 months ago but the reading just changed a few days ago.

Did you check your oil level?

The oil level and weight of oil will all make a difference in what the pressure is. When mine is bone cold it is over 60 psi, but after it warms up it sits at about 45-50 psi. I run a synthetic 0w-30 in the winter and it still reads over 60 psi when I start it cold. I change to a 20w-50 for the summer time and it reads about the same. I don't think your jeep is running too high. The check engine light won't have anything to do with the oil pressure. For a peice of mind, change the sending unit.
