I have the same diffoculties with a black car... The problem lies in the fact that darker colored cars tend to reflect more than other colors, so much of the cars paint would be a reflection of it's surroundings... When doing pencil drawings, I use a really light shade of grey for the car's paint, and pretty light shading for the countours... Then, I erase all the areas that I think should have a bright reflection. Hope that helps...

I always tend to think of anything in the real world in the forms of cubes, spheres, and cylinders...when you know how light falls around these objects it's easier to shade anything. I only use straight black of the pencil on areas such as the lower part of the car, wheel wells, etc. Black can also be used sparingly to accent emblems and stuff...I use alot more dark gay, and just as ci5ic said, wait until the last to make the white areas by erasing
Your photoshopped pencils kick ass too...wish I still had photoshop damnet...

wow that is one damned awesome sylvia pic (im a nismo fan). It would be damned near perfect if not for the ^thin wheels^ and irregularly shaped head of the driver (it would be cool if he were wearing a helmet).
