I just picked this car up in the "used" section of my local hobby shop. I couldn't decide between this and a Hasegawa 924 Turbo with engine detail. Both were painted, but the 924 was really poorly painted and it was too think to try and sand. So I picked this kit up. All the parts, except the body pieces (body, sunroof, headlamps, and side fairings) the painting is really nice, so I am going to leave it they way it is, decal it, and clear it.

You got it from Boardwalk! I was looking at it earlier today! I was gonna go back and get it but changed my mind. That 944 was pretty nice wasn't it? I got a Tamiya Supra Mk. III there on Thursday. A little Easy Off oven cleaner and I stripped the paint right off of it. The paintjob on that FC should only need a good polishing out. Good luck with it!:)

Weekend before last, I was looking at that same Mk3, I didn't buy it b/c it was curbside, but I was going back for it today, but you beat me to it. Are there any shows in our area soon tonio? I have a 612 Scag, a Grand National, a Chevelle, a Fiat, and hopefully this FC that a begging to be shown. This FC is going to get a set of BBS rims from a Tamiya BMW 635csi race car. I am gonna do a custom exhaust and just an air filter on the turbo. What color sould I do the rims? Silver lip, Gold Center? I can only update on the weekends, because I do not have the internet where all my scratch building supplies are, thus you guys won't get to see exhaust progress. So this car should be done by next weekend but pics may not go up until the following weekend. I will update as much as possible today and tomorrow.

I cut up a pen to try and make a muffler, it looks good but I think it may be too big. What do you think? I also made a conical filter for the turbo.

The underbody is almost done

The turbo has no physical connection to the airbox in this model, so even though I have a raceing style intake, I left the airbox in the engine bay because it fills it in more, and I like the artwork on it.

Completed Engine Bay. Will post good pics of the freshly cleared body tomorrow. Tonio, it would be great if you could pm me with more show details, are you going? I would like to meet you, I talked to russel, and he said he hasn't built anything in a year now, so i doubt he is going.

I really have been burning it up, I have not had this car 24 hours yet and look at how close I am. Tonight I am going to do all the trim, because the clear is still wet right now. Instead of the 17" BBS's I am thinking about 16" Gunmetal 5-spokes from my Tamiya R32 GTR what do you think?

DOes anyone want these?
http://www.photodump.com/direct/SkylineMan32/DSCN1199.jpg
Cleared an decaled body on the chassis

The engine looks soo good with that TMIC
http://www.photodump.com/direct/SkylineMan32/DSCN1201.jpg
This is bad pic, the paint is not grainy like that
http://www.photodump.com/direct/SkylineMan32/DSCN1202.jpg
The paint is unpolished at this point, but it is still really shiny
http://www.photodump.com/direct/SkylineMan32/DSCN1204.jpg
Up close on the motor
http://www.photodump.com/direct/SkylineMan32/DSCN1205.jpg
The interior
http://www.photodump.com/direct/SkylineMan32/DSCN1206.jpg

The left hand drive dash, and guages are availible as well.
When I lay clear, I lay it down periodically until it is realatively smooth (maybe a dozen thin coat), then when the clear is still tacky, I put it in the freezer. This brings the moisture to surface, and then you can wipe of the condensation without damaging the paint because it is frozen. The you let it sit out for a few minutes then put it in for another 15 minute. I repeat this a few times, and the I polish the car with Zymol, and a few other cleaner and polishing waxes. I am usually very happy with the outcome. Does anyone else do this? If not give it a try, see what you think, I think the results are pretty good. BTW, your freezer may have an odd odor.

Real Aluminum Down-Pipe-Back Exhaust and Muffler
http://www.photodump.com/direct/SkylineMan32/DSCN1236.jpg
THe Rubber is only done on one side, and my masking tape pulled the GT-Limited decal out of the clear on this side, so I stopped. Tonight I am gonna do the other die and the front.

The body was on crooked, in these pictures. What do you think of the skyline rims? This exhaust looks better than that plastic one. It was burnt on the tip but the carbon came of when I moved it, but I can easily throw that back on wiht a lighter for the show.

The exhaust looks a tad oversized though...
