Hello,
I have a Honda CRV. Purchased in 99 or 2000 date range.
When I accelerate fast from a stop the Brake light comes on. If I let up on th e gass or brake a little the light goes off. It only comes on when accelerating from a stop. It will not come on if I am driving and accelerate.
If i accelerate slowly or at a more moderate rate it does not come on.
Any suggestions as to what the problem may be? I am going to take it to a shop but I would like to know the opinion of you guys first.
Thank you for any suggestions or insight.

I'm having similar problems with my 99 CR-V. The brake light will come on when it's cold outside and will not go off until the car warms up and I turn off the ignition and then turn it back on again. Also, I've got Viper alarm system with keyless entry and the lock/unlock doesn't work when it's cold either. The alarm will arm, but the doorlocks will not activate.
Anyone got any suggestions for me too?

Did you check your brake fluid level?

If the brake fluid is still full you may need to to replace the brake fluid cap. There's a float in there that can get saturated, sink, and simulate low fluid level-turning the light on.
