Looking for an engine block heater for my 3.8l 1997 Grand Caravan engine. So far all I found was a heater for 2001+ cars. Are they compatible or do I need another part ? Anybody have the part number for the engine block heater (if it is different from the aforementioned model) ?

Thanks for the quick reply. Was hoping fo the Dodge/Mopar part though. They aren't really that expensive and I figure it might fit better if they are made by the same manufacturer as the engine...Will check NAPA next time I am in the area...

The 2 Mopar part #'s I have are...4740197 which subs to 4798276. Call the dealer and see if that's what you need.

The part listings says it is for a 3.9L Engine Block 1997-2000. Guess I will have to call the dealership :crying:

If your looking at a website dealer there info is compiled by a 3rd party like Trade Motion and may or may not show all applications. The numbers I gave you are out of the dealers E-fiche that they use/used before going to real time computers.

I am looking at an online Dodge parts dealer. The only application listed is 3.9L engines (granted it says engine heater block in one description but that doesn't really help...lol)

Well, it costs less than $10 so I guess I have little to lose...
