window molding clip question plz help

hi i was wondering if any one have ever had to replace the little nail head looking clip holders in the window jams im missing prolly 4 or 5 of them on my 68 nova dont really have ne good ideas on how to fix them mayb some has had this problem or nos how i can fix it i was thinkin of either welding the clips right to the jam or maybe gets some sheet metal screws and just screwing thm to the jam but i also dont no if i would be able to put the molding on wit the clips on there permently. thanks travis

Yes you can use screws, that's exactly what the window installation guys use. Just get some that have the same size head as the original posts and sink them in so the head is around the same space from the channel. If installed properly they will not come loose. Don't forget to coat the channel with your favorite rust inhibitor (mine is Eastwoods "Rust Encapsulator") before putting your ribbon or glass in.

hey thanks alot man yea i wasnt thinking i forgot all about it and i actully already put some por 15 rust prevention on it so worst comes to worse ill just have to sand it off in the spots i have to work with n put some more on when im done i prolly wont even hve to sand it off but yea thanks alot
