As I said in my last thread, I have no regrets posting my deaths. I love the thrill of racing whether I win or lose, and I love to see fast cars even when the destroy me. This was my second race of all time, and probably my favorite. I was turning right out of a parking lot, I had the green light, but I was hesititaing looking at the strange car at the red light to my left. I later found out it was a mid 50s Chevy Nova, but it looked like a total piece of crap. The car looked like it was ready to fall apart, but the most interesting thing was that it didn't have a hood on it. It obviously had an engine swap because the new engine was hanging out the top. It didn't have a hood because the new engine was too big to fit one on! I take the right turn, and drive slowly waiting for the guy to pull up next to me. I downshift getting the RPMs up to reduce turbo lag when we go. As he lines up I point forward and he nods. We both go at the same time, and he takes off like a freight train. We line up again, and this time I jump a little early. Not that it matters, he comes flying past me again like I'm standing still. The light in front of us turns yellow, and like an idiot, I roll through. He still would have killed me from a dig, but at least I wouuld have fared a little better with an AWD launch. Anyways, I roll my windown down and yell "THAT THING IS FAST!!!" He just points at his ear, indicating he can't hear me over the insanely loud engine, even though we are just rolling slow. We give each other the thumbs up, and go our separate ways. Talk about a wolf in sheeps clothing. That car was obviously built only for drag racing, not even a hood on the car... It was unbelievable fast. I have since found out that old Chevy Novas had a half frame, so they are very light as well.

definantly a nice death. I've been left behind by a few old muscle cars, and there isn't anything to be ashamed about.

The Chevy Nova didn't debut till 1962...

Probably was a mid 60's model.
