You need to replace that wire.

If it's burned through. Plus you don't wanna mess around iwith it, a coil will throw all the juice it can can iat a resistance wich in this case the resistance would be trying to jump the cracked wire to ground. And it doesn't take much time of this to fry the coil..

You should get a misfire code tho.

OBD1=no missfire code.

I thought the hybrids threw a general misfire code. I know the OBD II are cylinder specefic like P0301 would be "Powertrain, misfire cylinder 1"

nope, no misfire code on hybrids F-bodys.

Ecxaclty you have no insulation. Why bother trying to cheat around it, jsut get some new wires and route them away for the manifolds.

whit out any instilation will that cause it to missfire or like hisitate during acceleration. And it want burning cause the mantifold it was burning off the headers.

Yes, the outer layer/silicone of the plug helps hold the spark energy in. Just get some wire insulators (like the one's Mr.Gaskets sells) with your new wires and call it a day.

FormulaLT1

Yeah, they really butt rape you on that at most shops. I have done it a million times on LT1's though, so if you want a hand in doing yours. I'm a hour and half away, We could get it done in about a hour or so (give or take a half an hour.)

the rear plugs are easier from under but it is possible to do them all from the top. I tend to do them from under the car just cause I have a set of ramps handy and like lieing back while I work. I highly doubt you caused any damage to the coil but you could always register resistance and compare it against the specs.

when i thought about it, how come its not sending any check lights to the dash? and i took off my maf sensor an it was black so i cleaned it all off whats that from?

Well, maybe none of your sensors are going out of there operating range and the black stuff is carbon build up and its semi normal,. Usually its thicker on a car that has backfired many times.
