I have not much knowledge of cars....but I've been having problems starting my car. The battery appears dead, the battery gage tells the battery is dead.

After driving for maybe 10 minutes, I pakred my car and went into bank (battery was fine), came out and it wouldn't start. I didn't leave any lights or radio or anything, but the car won't start.

I tried getting it jumped and it just clicked. Jumping it worked previously when the battery died. the crank turns maybe a quarter around, but the car refuses to start.

my friend in automechanics believes it could be the starter because the spark plugs when they hit should spin the crank at least a half time around, which it doesn't. The guy who tried to jump me thinks it could be a dead battery.

Any input would be really helpful.
