what are the major problem in 3 cylinder motor or tranny?

Never had a problem with my 3-cyl engine or 5-sp tranny.

95 Metro HB 96,000 miles

I know this isn't motor or tranny, but what I see over and over in these cars is electrical. If it's not one thing or another.

My friend and I have aging metros, 95 and 96, respectively, and we both have oil leaks. Mine is the head gasket, hers is the valve cover gasket.

#3 valve tends to burn, some manual tranny's have a problem with the 2nd gear syncro, both problems are easy to deal with by purchasing replacements.
