I want to add a sub to my 2000 Sunfire Gt stock sound system, is this possible? I know the GTs have the 200 watt monsoon system and all, but is it possible to add a sub or amp to the stock system, or will i need to get a new deck? Any help would be great, thanks!

its not impossible to add an amp/sub to your system. what you could do is hook into your existing sound with an adapter (speaker to line level)
the only problem with that is sound qaulity
so you might want to get a new deck anyways

I accually have a coverter that plugs directly into the back of your stock monsoon head unit and converts a set of RCA jacks ..you dont loose the quality of the stock system but helps you to be able to add a amp and subs...

I used to have 2 10" Visonik subs hooked up with my factory deck. I bought an adaptor at walmart for $20.00. The quality was pretty good but you lose some of the bass doing it this way.

alot of amps come with the adapter as well. you connect it to your rear speakers
