what sort of pencil do you use for lighter areas, like the hood on alex's skyline?

I like shading with a H pencil because its hard but when you shade with it, it creates a really smooth lightish tone.

Well, if you truly want to get a black car rendered with pencils, you can't avoid at least a 2B pencil. 4B is even better.

Me personally, I only use a HB for the lighter tones. But I haven't done anything w/ pencils for a few months.

Just be sure that you get some quality pencils, and a sharpener with a good blade. Else it's not fun.
