Hello,
If any of you read my other thread I am changing plugs and wires today.
Anyway I have 3.1 liter V6 Grand Am (1995).
On the right side (driver side) of the motor there is something that goes into it, its black and has a hose of some sort on it that goes towards the firewall. It is right beside the vertical black metal piece you would use to chain hte motor (or I use it as a ground when boosting).
Anyway I hit this and broke it, what is it and how much is it going to cost me :(
And it is just cracked can I start my car? Let me know soon I am jsut changing my last two plugs :)

Ill get one right now be back in 5 minutes. I think it is a sensor as there is something similar going into the air intake.

That is what I was thinking from your discription, although I didn't want to say anything if I had misread it.
Nothing expensive at least, sorry I didn't get back to you earlier.

Yeah that's the PCV valve, it shouldnot cost more than $10 to replace, if it does then you got ripped off. You can start the car without it and even drive without it (within reason), but you may get a check engine light.
