I've got a serious draining problem!

Hey everybody,
I have a short somewhere in the circuit of a 99 G. Caravan's flasher/turn signal system--it drains the battery when the ignition is on or off. The car needs to be jumped if it is left for more than one night without starting it.

What component in the system is most likely causing this short circuit? The flasher relay? Switches? Any ideas?

its hard to say... unplug the switch and see if your drain goes away. some newer cars use a solid state flasher instead of the old thermal type, and some arent too easy to service. but look for a relay or some other way to isolate the different components of the circuit. but before doing all that work, make sure that is the circuit with the problem. hook up an ammeter in series with the battery cables. you should have no more than 50 milliamps dark current. start pulling fuses to isolate the circuit(s) if you havent already
