Getting to the Radio?

A light in my radio behind the AM/FM, RECALL buttons went out, & I'd like to find out what kind of light it is (it's not the LCD backlight).

I'm looking for instructions on removing the dash trim, and the radio itself, if anyone knows a link, that'd be great.

www.replacementradios.com (http://www.replacementradios.com) does repairs on Pontiac radios like that.

Good site, thanks. Although, $60 for a display repair - I can get the thing out myself, and I learned electronic soldering 1 1/2 years ago, so I still have my tools.

All I'd need is the diode and I'm pretty sure I could do it myself. It would probably be a day project, but I'd also save some $$.

If I do it soon, I'll take some step-by-step pictures and post them on here.

The repair you're needing is different from the display repair. And it's on a different type of radio too. The price surely isn't the same.
