98 Durango 5.2 uneven front braking

Not every time but most when braking from highway speeds steering wheel wants to pull to left. It just does it with the first pump of the brakes it you brake then let off and then brake again it stops straight. I recently replaces pads and rotors and all hold down pins slid nicely and old pads seemed to be worn evenly. Is there some sort of valve that could be malfuntioning?

It can be caused due to the brake settling down on a poor quality rotor surface (rotor not turned) and can also be the cause of a pad contaminated with lubricant(If this is the case, the pad is ruined). Un-even tire sizes, worn ball joints(common problem on durangos), worn control arm bushings or sticking caliper pistons can even cause pull..

I have replaced pads and rotors with NAPA United parts. Ball joints are guess what - new. I maybe will check into the caliper pistons. Though the old pads were worn evenly so I didn't suspect calipers being bad. Thanks for your input!

Check the rear brakes to make sure they are wearing evenly.:)

Thanks Steveo. I checked the rears awhile back and did not notice an uneven wear. I will check closer next time I have it in the air.
