front and back quarter panels

I'm working on a 1975 camaro right now and my front quarter panel has about a 1 cm by 5 cm rust hole in it and i was wondering if i could weld a plate in there or if it isn't worth it and I should just get a good quater panel. My back quarter panel on the same side has a little rust and i'd like some advice on this.

Depending on the rust location, you may not need an entire panel. Many older domestic cars have aftermarket patch panels, such as the lower portion of a quarter panel.

It's much easier and cheaper to just cut out and replace the apporx 8 inches at the bottom of a quarter instrad of doing the whole thing.

This may be the best route, because chances are the metal surrounding the hole is thin and weak, and should be replaced, too.

If this is just a beater/driver, then a home-made patch panel and filler will do, but is not perfect.
