Has anyone tried to paint their dash trim or know someone who has?
Thanks

Surface prep is the key to having it last. Use a quality paint made for vinyl/plastic, and use wax/grease remover on all surfaces prior to painting.

Go with SEM products for vinyl painting. Any quality paint store will carry their products.

paint thinner is recommended in most instruction manuals for prep. there are several brands, but as rich said, the key is prep, prep, prep.

Thanks everyone, I know prep is very important to remove any oils and most importantly silicon (Armor All). I was just wondering if anyone has done it.

I painted all my interior trim during the fall. THe key, like everyone said, is to prep, and the best way i found to prep was to wash all the plasic parts with warm water and a light cleaner. Then, I took a light grit sandpaper, i think it was 120, and sanded each and every plastic piece of that car. It was a pain in the ass, I'll be honest, but it came out looking good. I used Duplicolor metal-flake red spray paint, gave each piece two light coats, then a final one, a little thicker, and let everything dry.
The results were great, and, i really spices up the inside of the GP.
I have a few images for you, just to get an idea:

Good luck with the project.

Thanks for taking the time to get the pics, you really did a nice job.
They now have decals you can buy for around 120.00, they have various colors but the one I think would look cool is the brushed aluminum.
I figure with all the time and paint and everything it may be worth getting the decals.
Thanks again

The paint i used is Dupli-Color Metal Specks paint, the website for it is here http://www.duplicolor.com/products/metalspecks.html
I bought it in Pepboys, they had it with all the other spray paints.
It comes in a lot of colors, I chose red because the "theme" for my car is red and black...
I am pretty sure that it only took one can to do the whole thing, but, I bought two, just in case.
If i can help you with the project, lemme know, its a decent amount of work, and I found myself cursing a lot of things out while doing it, but the product is great.

Its not that hard, I honestly used this website to help me,
http://www.carstereohelp.com/stereoremovalPontiacGrandPrixSt2.htm
It shows the dash being taken off to remove the head unit...It should help you out, it helped me.
Some of the clips are realllly stuck in there, and you have to tilt the wheel down because you have to sorta, lift and slide the dash off
