Hello, I'm new here...

I'm from the '84-'87 Civic forum but I have been slowly invading this forum as I do research for an upcomming project. Because of this I thought maybe I should introduce myself just so you guys don't say: "WTF, who is this guy! Why does the noob think he knows all the answers!"
Anyway, I have built a 1G CRX SI (not your typical 1G), and I am extremely familiar with D-series motors, ZC motors, wiring, bakes and suspension mods. The opportunity came along recently for me to aquire a '90 Civic DX HB for practically free, so I have been scoping the '88-'91 Civic forum more than usual for research purposes. I haven't picked up the car yet, I'm still deciding if it is a project worth taking on since my 1G is almost finished.
I'm sure I will have several questions since I'm new to the '88-'91 Civic models, but I will also be happy to share the knowledge I have gained from building 1G's.
Thanks,
Alexander

No pics yet, I'm waiting until the weather is a little nicer around here before I take some pics.
But here's a rundown on my mods:
'89 d16a1 swap, completely rebuilt, bored .5mm and decked. Ported and polished head (did this myself), 3 way valve grind, shaved .050, 10:1CR, ZC cams, adjustable cam gears, '95 Civic fuel rail and an adjustable FPR. I also have a ported Civic ZC intake manifold, DC Sports header, and a CAI. I also rebuilt the tranny and installed an LSD, Act clutch, and a lightened 12lb flywheel while I had everything open.
Soon I'll be welding up a 2.25 exhaust for it, I'm still breaking in the motor so I'm not too concerned with the exhaust at the moment, but it will be done before I take the car to the dyno.
I've also swapped '89 Integra disk brakes all around along with the Teg master cylinder and proportioning valve.
For the suspension I'm using 27mm torsion bars up front, Ground Control coilovers in the rear with 300lb springs, Lightspeed 19mm rear sway bar, OPM adjustable panhard bar, and Koni Reds all the way around. I'm also using a lighter HF rear axle (8lbs less than the SI axle). Soon I'll swap the rear springs for something a little stiffer to make the car a little more neutral in the turns. Right now it has a small ammount of oversteer when I'm pushing it hard in the corners, but the 15" Bridgestone Potenza SO3's keep it gripped to the road pretty well.
Oh, I forgot to mention the carbon fiber one piece ZC hood (eliminates the ugly header panel) and partially stripped interior. I'm an upholsterer so I can't bring myself to strip the whole interior.
Thanks for the welcome!

oo time to go from D series to B series
That's what I'm thinking I'll do with the DX. I thought about a quick ZC swap, but it will never compare to the motor I just built. I also thought about a mini me swap, but it seems like the payoff is minimal. I'm thinking it's time to go B-series, because I can't have the same motor in all my Honda's (wheres the fun in that?)! :)

Well first I would just like to say welcome! I am pretty new to the forums but they help alot as you are all ready seeing I am sure.
I personaly am going to do a Late b16a swap and auto to manual conversion on my 1990 Crx so I am defenitly going to suggest going to B series just cause I hear so much great stuff about them.
Well enjoy your self here and never be afraid to ask :)

Ok, the weather cleared up for a while today here in Seattle so I quickly ran out and took some pics.
I'll see if I can figure out how to post them (geez, 900+ posts and I've never posted any pics)!
Here's a teaser:

DAMN! Well that didn't work.
At least you can still see them in the link provided.
Anyway, in the pictures I've got my 17" winter breaters on the car. Also, I have a blast cabinet so I bead blaster every aluminum part on the motor and the tranny case. I also bead blasted and clear coated the radiator, that's why it's brass colored. I borrowed this look from my low rider days.
Also, if anyone can help me figure out how to post pics I would be extremely grateful. I followed the directions, maybe it's a problem with the host(?).

I know how everyone loves pics, so here's a picture of the DX I'll be picking up soon. Keep in mind it's practically free!!! BTW, my CRX was also a free car and looked worse than this DX when I first got it.

The previous owner forgot to latch the hood, it flipped up so she slowed down only to rear end a truck. The hood is toast, along with the passenger side headlight and the strip along the top of the bumper. Other than that the body is still straight so a visit to my local junk yard is all I need.

You'd be amazed at how many times I've heard something like this.
I'll be picking up the DX next week, I'm receiving it as payment for swapping a transmission for a friend.
I'm thinking I'll strip it out and turn it into an AX car. I was starting to do this to my CRX but there is so much aftermarket support for the '88-'91 Civic's that it just makes more sense this way. I've got a turbo just laying around so I'm thinking I'll have some fun with the stock motor while I'm building another one. I still haven't decided what motor to build, but I just found a partially wrecked '92 Integra for $1,000 so maybe I'll start there.
