Hey everyone. I just bought a 97 Eclipse GSX with a 6 bolt swap. Last thursday the turbo went out, so I spent friday putting a new one in it, I drove it around that night and it drove good except it would almost stall whenever I stopped. It has done this before, not as bad though. On saturday morning I started it and after about 1-2 min of running it died, and now all it does is crank. I pulled the backseat and access panel to the fuel pump out, and when the key is in the on position you cant hear the pump. So I pulled the pump out and hooked it to direct power and it works. I also pulled the computer out and the capacitors are fine. The only thing I havent checked is the Fuel Pump Relay and that is because I dont know where it is at. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

FP Relay should be under the hood, but I would take a volt meter and test the wires in the connecters under ur back seat to make sure your getting power. That is, in addition to checking the relay, that way if the relay is good, you fried a wire or something became disconnected.

I checked for power at the fuel pump and there wasnt any. Where exactly would the relay be under the hood? I was also told that it would be behind the stereo but not exactly where..

It's just one of the relays in the fuse box under the hood. It should say on the cover(underneath). If it's not that....then this might be a chance to do a fuel pump rewire mod:)

Exactly, most likely is the relay went bad, sorry though, im not sure of the exact position, but I know it is under the hood with all the other relays

Im not with the car right now, so I could be wrong, but I checked earlier and I dont remember there being a relay there, i'll check later. Thanks for all the help.

The fuel pump wont run until you start cranking. Its an ingenious idea thought up by Chrysler:shakehead
