i have a 98 neon 4 dr. i got my fathers 16" pt cruiser rims and tires off his car on my neon.tires are 215/50/16 or 215/55/16,,i believe. the front fit fine with no rubbing, but in the rear the tires very slightly rub on the bottom of the suspesion supporter. when i drive you can hear it rubbing. its not severe rubbing, but its noticable. im wondering if over a few days this will just wear down on the slight spot its rubbing and then will be fine. or if this wont stop and will end up blowing out my rear tires. the question sounds kinda stupid, because i could easily fix this by buying some half inch wheel spacers or smaller tires. but im 17 and dont have very much money. im wondering if i can get by, by just leaving it rub alittle untill the tread on that part is dont wearing. the spot that it rubs is not very severe, when the car was on lift you could spin the tires fine, just they slowed down fast then usual. please post back with your opinions. thanks you.

For a 16 rim you need a 205/45/16 or 215/45/16 tire. The rubbing is not a good thing ever. I would not suggest or condone you driving like that. The wheel spacers aren't a good idea either. A cheap way to run the tires you do have is to get Offset Rear Suspension Tension Rods for $89 shipped. Check out www.neongoodies.com, a guy named Vitor sells them and is a good guy to deal with.
