trunk rattle

im cheap, so what can i do to stop the trunk rattling the cheapest way.

the easiest (and cheapest way) is to find out EXACTLY what parts are rattling - then only apply the damping material there.

what kind of dampening material?

the cheapest stuff seems to be this stuff made by brownbread or something like that. You can also use an expanding foam spray used for insulation for those hard to get to locations.
