Crappy wireless signal

Got a quick question for you computer buffs, im not exactly sure what I should be looking for but I am looking to boost my wireless signal especially on campus as there are spots where I get next to no signal. I have seen these wireless antenna thinggy mer bobbers and I am wondering if they work and how well they work. Also what would work with my current wireless card. I am using the factory Intel PRO wireless or whatever thing that came in my dell. Any help would be great. Thanks!

there is not much you can do beside getting an external antena if your wireless card supports it. I guess you could also pettition to the IT department to add more repeaters. Also stay as much as posible in the open far from anything that could act as a farraday cage or electronic equipment that could add interference.

Those late night "as seen on tv" cell phone boosters do not work period. If that is what you were asking about.
