Clutch problem

There's a 1990 probe gt that has a new motor, turbo, trans, and clutch that I'm thinking of buying for $300, but its got a problem with the clutch.

At first when i pressed it down it went almost to the floor before it would engage and you would have to pull it back up with your foot, then after a few more times, it went all the way to the floor completely without engaging.
I checked the master clutch cylinder and it was full so i don't know what the problem is.

Have any of you had this kind of problem before?

Hi, RE, Your probe clutch problem, First of all when you press the clutch pedal down the clutch should release, not engage---Do we have a terminology problem? I think so...So much for that---Now, go thru the proper bleeding procedure, It may take some time to get all the air out of the system, ONE big rule, When pumping the pedal DO IT SLOWLY, Worst case, You may have a bad slave cylinder......GOOD LUCK....Clay...
