Tibby Bashing

Why is it that so many honda owners doubt the tiburons power.... I have had this happen 4 times in this past weekend. The cars a newer honda prelude, 2 civic si's im guessing like 2000 or so , and a jetta 1.8t not sure what year. usually i go out hang with friends at the local saturday nights car shows in va ....norfolk , newport news area. this weekend some people wanted to race aka the cars i mentioned after some crude remarks about hyundais and my car in general i said where do you wanna go ... interstate and closed roads.. im not saying my car is fast not even quick but its ok just with a few bolt ons i can pull the new v6 by about 2 car lengths which isnt bad with my 98 fx but the first 2 runs were the prelude after him supposedly over reving and me leaving him in the dust he flashed his highs and i came back . second run i guess he got a good launch he started catching up around 85 -90 but i still held him off by about a 1/2 car when we slowed ... next up was the si which i believe was stock and yet he had the biggest mouth of them all and after one run with me pullin about car and a half he had to go meet his girl friend... the other si had pretty much the same mods that i do except he had a chipped p28 ecu which i guess doesnt really help because we were dead even until 75 or so and i barely started pulling. the jetta also had to meet his girlfriend right after i raced the 2nd si so there you go .... moral don't talk shit about a car just because you think they have a bad reputation.

Yea... I agree with Nisco. There just ignorant. I live in the suburbs of Chicago and about when the new body style came out with the v6, I was one of the first to get one. I got all of the same shit as you did... then people started relizing. They test drove em and raced em. They thought differently. Im in college now and my little brother said that the 3rd gen tibs are all over the parking lots of his highschool. After a while hopefully people out there will see there not just another "piece" cruzin the streets.

Another big thing is the whole "ricer" talk. And i'd bet that thats what they say or think about tibs. To me thats just negative connotation of any import that isnt really modded well or looks un-uniform. People pick at the becuse they usualy have crazy exterrioirs and not much in the engine to back it up like they talk. Im not really saying thats bad, Its just not my taste. I dont mean to fuel any disscussion further then this. My outside appearance is stock... under the hood its not, but im kewl with any car that is clean cut modded.
