my interior lights (instrument/gauge illumination, heater controls, etc) do not work at all and i looked and my front and rear running lights on the right side dont work. everything else is fine. the bulbs are good

as mentioned before, i cant open my hood to check any of those fuses or anything but you think its just a fuse for all that stuff?

i'm going to say fuse, most likely

as far as interior goes, there is that little thing that can make them brighter or darker, my gf's had a few blonde moments with that... "where the hell are my lights " *turn* "oh"

OMG now that is funny. I think all girls have that moment. I know mine went weeks thinking that her lights were going out before I showed her the little knob for adjusting the brightness....lol

Why can't you open your hood?

my hood release cable broke off the latch assembly and no one knows what to do with it so i cant open the hood to fix that or anything else for that matter

if you got any ideas pleeeease let me know. ive tried from every direction to get to the latch to open it

OK, are you talking about the safety thing in front of the car, or the initial cable from the cabin to the hood? If its the hood thing, then I bet you can get to it from under the car...but im not sure. If its the cable from the cabin, i dont even know where that runs...good luck. You need to get that fixed...oil, coolant, and other things..wow, thats bad

honestly, that is a need to be fixed

if you get underneath your dash with a flashlight you can look and see where each and every little wire runs through from the car through the firewall right behind your driver's side front wheel (you have to undo the entire plastic wheel well guard)

that MIGHT be where it is

but yeah, that is bad and you do need to get that fixed pronto

yeah i know where the cable runs (right above the fender liner on the left side) its easy to trace but theres no appearent way to get any access to the latch to release the hood. i put it on a lift and looked. it seems out of reach from every angle.

as of now, i plan to go to the mitsu dealer to buy the new cable and tell em to open the hood and see what happens there

well i payed an arm a leg and a nut to get the hood open and it turned out to be the fuse for the left side tail light circuit that caused the right lights and interior lights to not work so thats that

well at least the problem itself wasn't terribly expensive

the hood thing sux though, hope mine doesn't do that

the mechanic at the dealer just said to squirt some WD40 on there every now and then cause the whole latch assembly (not just the cable) rusted / corroded and sorta siezed up which, in turn, put stress on the cable and broke it.

and if u notice it becomming at all difficult to pop it, lube it before the cable breaks and u should be ok
