today i realized i am missing a bolt that connects the rear bracket to the tranny.... and also 1 bolt that goes from the tranny to the block

i tried replacing the bolt to that rear bracket but seems as if the hole on the tranny i sstripped.... i had a new bolt and it will not tigten just strips....

any ideas on what i can do to possibly fix this problem...

please don't say NEW TRANNY

you need to buy a tap and rethread the hole 1 size bigger, probably better off letting a shop do it or just leaving them out. My tranny was missing some bolts before and was actually not sitting on the block and the car ran and just had a slight wobble under hard acceleration.

You can get the tap and die set at any hardware stores or automotive shops. They have different thread sets i.e. standard, metric and etc. So you should pick up a metric set.

Tap is basically a threaded rod that you insert into the old hole to rethread. Usually you use one size bigger tap than the original bolt hole to properly set up the thread pattern. In some cases, I have used the same size tap to rethread, but if the hole is already fully stripped, then I would use a larger size as TurboGSR said.
