Ghosts locking my doors...

Does anyone else have problems with their doors locking on their own without touching or doing anything?

I was at the gas station and threw my keys on my seat and then shut the door to go talk to a friend really quick and then came back and the doors were locked... it sucked ass since two days ago there was -45 degree wind chills so imagine standing out in that shit. This happened once before too with the doors just locking on their own and i dont know why..

Do you have keyless entry on your car?

Just always keep your keys with you, that way you won't have this problem.

Holy crap, mine does that too. I was sitting in it once just lookin around trying to figure out a good spot to mount my afc and it automatically locked and set the alarm. I was like holy shit! They keys were in the house too... Maybe somebody died in the factorys and our 2g's really are haunted. lol :icon16:

haha...Most of the time when I unlock my car with my key..I have to pull the door open real quick or will lock...this is only from the driver's side though! Sucks and if I want to keep the doors unlock... I have to reach over to the passenger side and hit the lock open. If I dont do that, I have to unlock and open the door real quick(the driver's side). Kinda weird and confusing, I have no clue why..just kinda put up with it.

mine did this when i went to warm it up once. Sucked because i didnt have a spare key, and the other keyless remote wouldnt unlock the door. The car sat in my driveway running for 4 hours before we could get to the local mitsu dealer and get another key made.

My car does the same thing, I'll be working on it or sitting in it(with keys in the ignition even in the on position) and it will all of the sudden lock and turn the activate the alarm. I'm glad to hear its not just me. And its an alpine alarm system that came with the car and all I know how to do is lock it lol 8 buttons and I only know what 2 do lol

I guess the keyless entry automatically locks the doors after a certain amount of seconds because mine does the same exact thing...

The locks on my doors just broke though... When i use a key nothing happens but when i use my remote they lock...

wut happens when my remote dies...

I would say your SOL then. lol

Nah, just pull your door panel off and see if the lock arm came off the key hole lock. For the longest time I would have to unlock my driver door from the passenger side and that was the problem. :)

yeah my gst does the same thing, at first i thought it was some ghost thing too. but now that i hear it, i guess it's like a security feature, cause i noticed that if i try to lock the doors with the buttons when the car's is running and door's open, it unlocks automaticly and disables the lock buttons for about 5 seconds,

Well it seems to be pretty normal so I guess I'm not to worried about it, no when I set my alarm off I can tell people its supposed to do that

Pift, like thats an easy solution.

Im still mad about that 1/2 tank of gas that was wasted on idle in the driveway.

Are we talking about the factory keyless system? I know of some aftermarket one's that will lock automatically, but I didn't know the stocker acted that way.

Trueeclipse

yes, the factory one does that...

All though I have a different remote from some random company that overcharged like hell... It programmed into my factory system alarm/door locking mechanism...

So yah the factory locking system does do that...

Do you have an aftermarket one?

My GST does the same thing. It's happened to me twice (thank god I've always been at home with a spare set of keys in the house). I ALWAYS make sure I take my keys with me now. :iceslolan
