My 2001 Caravan goes into limp mode about every 2 weeks. You never know when it is going to happen. I am a new mom with 2 children who feels that this is very dangerous. The headlights go out, the fan won't blow, it won't go above 30 mph, the speedometor goes up and down, the gears all light up, and the back speaker makes a noice. I can get it to snap out by knocking on the fuse box not by restarting the car. I am worried about the headlights going out while i am driving at night. They say it can't be fixed enless it is acting up because they don't know what wire may be bad. Please help.

Judging by similar posts on this forum this is becoming a common problem. It appears to be a poor connection in a wire harness either at the computer or fuse panel. There should be a recall for this. The only way Chrystler is going to do that is if the National Highway Transportation Safety Administration forces them to. The only way that will happen is if enough people complain. Here's the link: http://www-odi.nhtsa.dot.gov/ivoq/ You definitely have a safety related issue.
As for your situation, first I would find a Dodge dealer who cares about your safety. Obviously, this dealer couldn't change a tire without screwin it up. They couldn't even take the time to shake and inspect the wires behind the fuse box? Short of that I would ask around for a good family run auto repair shop in your area and see what they can do for you. I would trust them over a dealer any day. Please let us know what happens
