I drive a 92 4.3 GMC Jimmy, and the other night, I hit a pot hole, and lost control and went thru a ditch.:banghead: After I got out of the field and back onto the road, my engine sounded funny and was causing a vibration that it hasn't before. I can see the muffler shaking at the end, and the steering wheel shakes, and it isn't an alignment problem, because it does it in park. I put the hood up and hit the accelerator, and the engine shakes side to side not violently, but alot more than it did before. It also feels liek it doesn't accelorate as hard, and my gas milage is someone worse.

I believe either a cylinder isn't firing, or I broke an engine mount or it's loose, or, if someone knows, tell me what the problem is!

And can someone PLEASE tell me where the motor mounts are so I can check them?

Thanx for anyone that is of any help!!!

Check all your wires to the plugs and check your motor mounts. You're on the right track I think.

I have a 1998 jimmy and the service engine soon light came on and I took it to Auto Zone and the code was P1860 which is the TCC TWM solenoid circuit electrical. I installed a new solenoid and the wire harness too and checked the wires from the computer to the transmission and all check good but the light came back on after I reset it. Now they're telling me that it might be the ignition switch. Can anybody help me?

A full scan with a trans scanner done by a qualified tech can command and confirm solenoid operation and properly doagnose your problem.

Turns out it was a spark plug wire! I was checking all of them and the second one i found was dry rotted right at the base of the connector where it connects to the spark plug and I could see where a spark was burning through it and shorting out on i guess the engine block.

Lemme tell ya, those wires that the connectors came straight out and not angled like the other four are a pain to get out, they both ripped apart and cost me 30-40 extra minutes of work.

I have a 1998 Jimmy 2 wheel drive with a transmission code P1860. I replaced the solenoid and the wire harness and check the wires from the computer to the transmission and they check good. I took it to a mechanic and he scanned the transmission and the solenoids are working fine. He said it's an electrical problem. Has anybody had the same problem? If so how was the problem fixed?
