Which car do you think would win in a quarter mile, A FWD talon tsi with header, downpipe, full cat and intake or a 93 civic dx with short throw, intake, fuel rail, plugs, wires, cap, coils, and 100 shot that gets used the right way???

What year tsi? I put my money on the talon

It would be a close race. If the owner of the TSI can drive, I'd put my money on that.

Its all going to be in the launch

Header on a TSI?

How are we supposed to know, just go do it.

LMFAO that civic is going to blow up on a 100 shot of spray. The Talon would win be default.

ok, i wasn't really aware you couldn't put headers on the tsi talon... but it would be a 94 and the civic wouldnt use the spray all at once... just a lil at a time just to help it out but the guy driving knows what he is doing and would be able to pull it off... i would have to have my money on the talon tsi tho i mean they are both FWD and the 100 shot kinda almost equals the turbo in the talon but i dont think the civic would be able to handle all that dry shot to tell you the truth... i htink it would blow too... just starting a conversation....

Dry shot! Watch him lean out and melt a piston lol. And on a turbo car its called a manifold on a header.(and thers only 1 on a 4 cylinder)

well, i am just getting into the whole turbo world and im researcing it a little bit. I like the talon and Ricer... Your car is one of the cleanist ive came across yet. I am looking into getting the FWD even tho the AWD is a little better but i live intown so i really have no need for the AWD, its better but not nessacary. I really just want to get the stock 95 talon and put on the turbo myself. I know it would be easier to just buy the tsi but its no fun just buying it. I would rather build it up and know exactly how it works. But i do wonder if just bolting the turbo and intercooler on and going is a good ideal. I think there is a few more things that need to be done?? could anyone help out with there :2cents: ?? It's all helpfull

Ok, if you are new to turbos and their setups you had better buy a turbo Talon from the start. It will help you to learn the different components and then you can always upgrade the parts on that one. Just because it comes with a turbo doesn't mean its "done." 95-99 turbo Talons and Eclipses have about 210hp stock, but nobody is happy with that. So, we all swap out our turbos, intercoolers, blow off valves, wastegates, and all supporting motor modifications and end up with 500+hp. To me, thats a funer route than turbocharging a non turbo. If you turbocharge a non turbo you will be lucky to get 250hp out of it without having to swap your internals. The stock internals of a turbo Talon or Eclipse can handle upwards of 450hp before needing replaced. Trust me, you will be much happier buying the turbo Talon or Eclipse and upgrading it instead. :)

Yeah i see what you mean but i will never find a tsi in my price range... That including i will NEVER find the AWD version that i could afford right now. I think i like the FWD tsi a little more than the AWD even tho the AWD has way better handling the FWD can still show off and burn some rubber every once in a while, lol :iceslolan but my price range is the only reason i asked about bolting a turbo on the stock talon i thought maybe it would be cheaper to just buy a bone stock talon and eventually do a whole whole whole lot of work to it... or just drive it for a while and do minor things to it and eventually get the AWD tsi version...

Whats your price range? I'm sure you can find lots of stock turbo Talons and Eclipses within it. My Talon I picked up for 3k and its a turbo model... You can usually find decent 2g's (95-99) for 3000-6000 range. Depending on mileage and if anything else is already done to it. 1g's(89-94) usually go anywhere from 500-4000. Again, depending on several things. But, if you end up going with a non turbo, you better not pay anymore than 4000 for it. If you pay over that, I will smack you. lol  :p :slap:

We don't bench race here, nor do we care who would win. If you wanted to learn, all you would have had to do is ask a SENSIBLE question. And please don't capitalize the first letter of every word, it's hard as hell to read.

Honestly, you'll have way more fun in a DSM than you ever can dream of in a Honduh. Get a turbo and learn to handle it stock, then you can start upgrading from there and easily have yourself a 12 second car. Just my :2cents:

Edit: And you know that the Eclipse is almost identical to the talon right?
Eclipse RS = Non-turbo, base model
Eclipse GS = Non-turbo, power options.
Eclipse GS-T = FWD Turbo
Eclipse GSX = AWD Turbo

Get the turbo, you will not be happy with the NT models. Trust me, i've been down that road. Its long, bumpy, and slow as hell.
