Integrated Horn Button in Drivers Airbag

Is there a way to repair the horn button that's integrated into the Drivers Airbag plastic cover? Is there a fix?
This is a really poor design by Saturn. They must of thought the button would never ware out, either that or, they like the idea of selling a $500.00 airbag to fix the horn.
I've pulled the unit from the stirring wheel. On the back are 4 plastic clip retainers which are used to secure the unit to the stirring wheel. In order to gain access to the horn contacts I need to separate the outer cover (the part you press to activate the horn) from the bag, this requires removing these 4 clips. If I attempt to remove them I'm sure they'll brake and then I'll not be able to reinstall it back on the wheel. If I could some how remove these clips then I might find away to repair the horn contact/s inside.
Any ideas are appreciated
Thanks, Bruce

i have the same problem - i had to disconnect the horn because it would not shut off- now i have the service light which will not go off - i quess i will just install a seperate horn and not worry about the service light - the horn should be fixed free - but they will not do it.:evillol:

tip one: do not mess with the air bag unless you really know what you are doing
tip two: do not mess with the air bag at all
tip three: replace the assembly
-OR-
leave the horn inop(not legal in most areas)
-OR-
install a remote button for the horn.
