rear view mirror question

ok so i want to remove my automatic day/night rear view mirror because it no longer automaticly adjusts when light hits it, so i want to put a regular one in, question is the screw seems to be broken off or maybe some kind of clip that i've never seen before is used on the auto mirror, i need to know how to get it off safely without harming the glass. i provided a picture to show everyone to see what it looks like, OR is there anything i can use to loosen up the glue and the whole mirror and bracket alltogether??? i have an extra bracket with the new mirror so its not like i need it. let me know, thanks in advance.

They are a wedge fit GENTLY tap up on the base

so im assumeing that all these mirrors are on the same way then? if there is a way to losen up the glue too that would be helpful, i dont know if the new mirror will fit on that bracket.
