95 325i wont start

For the last couple days, my bmw wouldnt start. So today I pulled all the plugs out to clean and dry them, thinking it might just be flooded. When I put them all back in, and tried to start the car, it fired and made a popping noise then started turning over faster like theres no compression..

Hope I didnt do any major engine damage, im going to pull the plugs again to make sure theyre all in good.. any ideas???

The engine was installed (bought used) about 5,000kms ago

try a compression test and what does the oil smell like? like gas then chnage it the car is flooded if so pull the fuel pump relay/ fuse and crank over to dry out cyls and get oil back up to rings.
