when space is an issue, would i want to go with 6.5" subs or maybe as big as 8", in a multiple driver config.
what would be the benefit? example--4 6.5" drivers in a ported single chamber box. would fit nicely in the rear hatch of my truck. any recomendations as to box design?
wise choice or should is crap the idea and just go with one 12?

cone area rules. plus not a lot of companies invest much money into developing 8's for that very reason. basically IMO go with the biggest single sub you can fit in the space you can or are willing to give up within your price range. subs in numbers only for symetry, penis envy, or set up restrictions as far as daily is concerned.

i could use some help here
i got a 2 seat pick up, no room between the seats, just a center console i could easily take out from between the seats. i dont want to hamper my loading capacity by slapping a cap on it and id be afraid if i had subs back there anyway whatever im carrying could damage them. so that puts me down to putting something in between my seats where the center console is. i was thinking a bazooka sub, but my friend just got one and it gets really distorted when the volume goes up there where i like it. anyone have any ideas?

Some companies have subs made for this reason, earthquake audio has one so does audiobomb (bahn). About how much room you have behind the seat.

Using 6.5" woofers, the box required to get the lower frequency of the 12" would be about the same size. I'd just get a 10" or 12" and stick it in a sealed, if you're going for simplicity and space saving.

From the mental picture I have, I'd be inclined to use a low profile 10" (possibly 8"), in a custom 4th order bandpass console-shaped enclosure. BUT, there may not be enough room. That's just my first impression. Do you have any dimensions to go off of?

what kind of truck do you have? If you like MTX they have thunderform enclosures (amplified or not) that can go under the seats for select pickups.........

What are you an mtx sales man, they have them for a limited amount of vehicles and there expensive as hell for a damn enclosure. Looks like an early 90's dakota. And i dont thnk they have them for regular cab trucks.

There is another company that puts the motor structure on the front side of the cone, i forget their webpage though, and they are considered top notch SQ.

Looks like a pretty decent combo, for the given application.

Just port two SE 10's in place of the center console..... downfiring.... and be done with it.

I have an 8" sub in each front door of a full sized car ...... I hit about 128-130 dB with the new pressure sensors. It really depends on how much bass you want.

elemental designs makes a 6.5 inch woofer that is getting a lot of praise right now. dont know if itll fit depth wise though.

RL-i 8's + Sealed Door Pods. Run them as a midbass with no HPF and also have a midrange and tweeter.
