Is there anyway possible to stop the seatbelt alarm if I do not want to hear it when I do not have a seat belt on? All help is appreciated. The dealer will not do it due to liability issues. I know there has to be a way.

I thought it was a law in all 50 states to wear seatbelts. Why would you come onto the Public Forums and announce that you break the law and want assistance to make it more convenient?

read the owners manual i believe there is a proceedure in there to defeat the chime it is anoying driving in parking lots or other places that do not require seat belts and listening to this chime go off

So when you pull out of the parking lot you are supposed to remember to re-engage the chime? The logic just isn't there.

Maybe I'm an oddball but EVERYTIME I get in a car I put a seatbelt on and make sure the airbag light turns off, even if it's to drive two blocks to the mailbox. If you put it on everytime it becomes a habit that's hard to break. I highly recommend it.

I'll be damned............ I never hear the chime.

I always use the "Put the Seatbelt ON" method for turning off the chime, but I've heard that driving a vehicle into a bridge abutment at, oh, say, 90mph without seatbelts on usually fixes the problem too. Permanently. :icesangel

Distconect the fuse, oh yeah, that will disable the airbags to. I like watching that car rolling down the high way and the driver is being thrown out the van and then another car hits him. Do you make other passengers wear them? Kids, Grand Kids? God Bless you!
