I'm new, and I need a little help. This is my car, and is used as the training vehicle of a driver trainer in our city. It has been very reliable, but things are starting to go do to so much milage. We have put on almost 60,000 KM since last May. Not good, I know.

The other day, I clicked the brights on, all was fine. I clicked again to turn them off, and I had no headlights at all. The brights still come on fine when you click to turn them on, but the headlights only come on if you pull the stick and hold it there.

I don't know what the thing is called that I would have to replace, but I think it might be something like a high/low dimmer switch.

Does anyone know how hard it is to do this yourself, or how much this part should run me? BTW, I'm in Canada but US$ is fine as an estimate.
Any advise would be appreciated!

Thanks!

Welcome to AF Melistie!

Ya sounds like the multi finction switch/head light switch is bad. You should be able to find one for $100 or less new, here in the US, not sure what prices run in Canada, I'd assume they are more expensive as with other things.

Not reall hard to do if you hav the tools to remove the steering wheel.
If it has an air bag make sure to disconect the battery AND pull the fuse for the Air Bags. THey can blow when messing wiht the electrical system in the steering wheel.
