This weekend I had a tree branch that decided to snap off my car radio antenna. Does the antenna (rod) part unscrew from the base or is all one piece?? 2001 Sunfire 4 door.

most of them unscrew. if it looks like u can put a wrench around the bottom then u can unscrew it.

Thanks, but it snapped off flush at the mount. I will look at another Sunfire to see.
Thanks, for the replies.

with that now i would just get another one and see if u can put it in(mount). i owuld say try and drill other one out but u do not want to wreck the threads.

I think it screws from inside the trunk, the base that is. and the mast screws onto the base.

Thanks for the replies. Went to the dealer and the threaded part is on the end of the coax. The black part on the car is just a grommet. So I would need the coax (I hope it disconnects in the trunck and not go all the way to the radio. Too cold to look) and I would need the antenna, not sure on the grommet.
