knock

when i start my 96 4.3 in the morning and rev it a littel like 1500rpm it knocks loud wat is causing it. also after it is warm it has vaulve chatter. is this related only does the knock when cold if any one else has had this prob how long has the engen last need to no becaues debaiting to get the trans rebuilt it has 126000miles
