I hate Ferrari, I'll admit it. But this car is so damn sexy. I've begun it, and am completely enamoured with it. I don't know why. Well, I've some ideas, but they're rather odd.

This is the Fujimi Option Parts kit, with the cooler rims and the cooler seats. I really didn't care for the original wheels, and didn't want to put CE28s or anything on this car, so I waited for this version to ship from HLJ. The wheels seem just a tad too small, so to hide it I've grabbed some tires from my spares box that have a thicker sidewall, and they look good to me now. Plus, I got to get rid of the no-name, bizarrely narrow, and uninspired looking tires (the kit ones may be correct for the car, but I don't know. Nor do I really care, these look better to me. Better sidewall, better tread, and they're wide!). Color will be Cobra Colors Rosso Corsa; the only Ferrari in my stable will be red.

I'll be working on this off and on in the gaps of the Healey that is giving me so much trouble.

Look at all that progress! Get out of the way! I will finish this so fast you're head will spin 'round and fall off!

Lookin' good.

The optional rims scale out to 18", they're supposed to be 19's :banghead:

They did that w/the Sportec rims in the Gallardo as well :shakehead

I hate Ferrari

You know, in Italy, you can be arrested for saying that... :iceslolan

Looking great, Will. I enjoy your builds, and love the subject of this particular one. Good call on those tires. They look at least eleventy-billion percent better.

I feel exactly the same and I'm also working on a F430, the regular Fujiimi version.
But mine will not be red, never!

To bad the engine on the fujimi kit is lacking in detail, Revell's is beter.
But I also get the feeling that the Fujimi kit's body is more acurate and the kit has beter detail allround but both kits have their flaws. The Revell kit has F430 written on both mirrors, while it should only be on the driverside mirror and the Fujimi kit is missing the horse on the headrests.
When combining both kits I think you can get a kit close to Tamiya's quality.

The option parts kit has a different pair of seats, so horse or no horse it doesn't matter. Also, I don't think the option parts version is meant to actually be a challenge, is it? Because the five lug v one lug doesn't really bother me either.

The Revell's engine detail doesn't really get me that excited. You can't see any of it once it's mounted; it's not like a Civic or a Camaro where there's a ton of look-see around the motor. The frame connector hides most of the motor, all you can see is the intake plenum which Fujimi has done well. With some clever detailing and painting, it'll look great. All the Revell kit does is let you get dust all over the motor by opening the hatch. Not that terribly exciting for me. The body looks stellar, though, so Fujimi was the way to go for me.

Now with more interior!

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v417/willimo/F43004.jpg

The Accu-Stion PE is great. Too bad none of it shows - the F430 plate for the dash is there, but you can't even tell what it is in the photos. Shame. I also intend to add seatbelts and buckles, but I've not the right sized plastic for the buckle so I'm going to wait for Saturday, after I go to the LHS to get some more TS primer and TS-29.

Ooh! But my doctor specifically told me to stay away from foods with lots of interior in them.... Oh well, it's so tasty I can't resist!

Gorgeous!

Made with 30% real engine.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v417/willimo/F43007.jpg

Still a few paint callouts to do, and I am still trying to make some passable fuel rails to populate the engine bay a bit more. It looks good, but sparse. I really think this looks just as good as the Revell engine bay when it's all shoehorned in there. The airbox is painted magnesium, and the hose clamps are BMF. Also, the metal subframe around the engine is BMF. Weird!

Also, since I am adding mesh from the Accu-stion PE set, I felt it necessary to add a couple small radiators to the front of the car, like the real thing. It would be weird to look in there and see... nothing. I'm doing the same in the back of the car, with a peice to simulate gearbox through the mesh hole in the diffuser.

That's a great job Mr. Willimo, Sir!

The interior is soooo cleanly put together and detailed.
Also the paint on the body paint looks as if it's still wet :bigthumb:

Very nice call on the radiators :worshippy - that will be filed away in my "good ideas to steal/borrow" filing cabinet ;)

If I was more into Ferrari, I would have gotten a Modena kit, and used the Tamiya engine in this car, and done some fancy scratching to make it all fit. But, it's just a Ferrari :evillol:

Thanks for the feedback, guys.

maybe I can't do that too. lol
yeah, I'm a not big fan of ferrari too. but, I'm building Ferrari too, Modena. I'm believing that it doesn't mean I like Ferrari, it means I just like the "Ferrari in America". actually, I've never built ferrari modelkit as european spec. I always make Ferrari as US spec. narrow license plate pockets, side marker etc...
And I can dream about Ferrari which is running down the streets of beautiful places.
I really want to go america. my country is so crowded. streets are so narrow. driving a American car in narrow Japanese streets is difficult. especially, full-sized cars. Even if the car is classic or modern, it is very happy for me to watch the American car on the street.

good luck with your F430!

Will you really did a great building on this car.i have got a regular one and i also love the BBS wheels.the 430spider will soon release, that's a damn sexy car,i prefer to put the BBS wheels on it.BTW,as i know the f430 engine is completely different from the modena's.i'm not sure it's ok to put the modena's into f430.
