About half way up the window begins to canter to one side and jams. I then must assist it with my hand to keep it straight and to close properly. Is this a common problem on 98's? Any pointers? Just wanted to get a little insight before I tear the door apart. Thanks.

I had the exact same issue with my drivers side window.
I adjusted the top of the front track & silicone lubed the tracks. Now the window is not perfect but darned near.
The remaining slop in the window is due to flex in the regulator arm.
At this point I'm not too worried about it as the siliconed tracks allow the window to slide the last 1/4" closed that the regulator arm flex allows.
Does that make sense?
Good luck!

I had the same problem and the window would very go up. With time, it would go up even slower. Finally, I caved in and had to have the "lifter" replaced. Now it works, but it was not a "cheap" job.
