my car has been acting really weird today, i put heat (yellow bottle) in my car today and filled the tank to half and its 20 degrees outside. Anyway to my problem, when i came to an intersection i put my clutch down to the floor and my car just died, i then started it back up and kept going. Next stoplight it almost did it again. What could this be?

mine does this because my coil is bad. that could be your problem

I believe it only does it when i push the clutch in

same here. i know my coil is bad tho so I'm pretty sure thats why mine does it. when u push the clutch in the rpms drop instantly or are supposed to. and if your coil/wires/plugs are bad then they could just drop completely because the coil/spark plugs/wires aren't producing spark the way there supposed to. just my theory. if I'm wrong someone please correct me.

you don't think this is a fuel/cold problem, i was also told today that putting the yellow bottled ISO Heat in a car is bad for it, versus the red kind

still same problem ur not geting enuff spark to keep the gas ignited

I will look into it, thank you very much

NP or like you said that shit u put in there could have made the gas "less" flammable that could also cause the problem. try putting some gas treatment in it to see if it will clear that shit out.

What octane gas are you using? Try filling your tank with 91-92oct and see if that helps... Usually one bottle is suppose to be used with a full tank of gas.

Doesn't fuel treatment pull all the debris and water from your tank to the top of the tank then it is sucked through the fuel filter? My thoughts is that what if you clogged your fuel filter by doing this? I know 3 years ago when it was cold out I put that stuff in and i clogged my filter. Well I'm probably wrong but GL anyways.

all i run is 93

Why? It does nothing for your N/T. Cars that dont need it do not gain anything if you use it. Search it if you dont believe me... You're just waisting money.

its only 15 more cents then 87 and its better for the injectors correct?

Isn't it better for the injectors because it burns hotter and doesn't allow carbon to build up?

^mythology. The quality of the fuel is not determined by the octane rating. (You can still get watered down dirty 93 octane). It is determined by the place you get it from. Carbon buildup is from improper combustion (air/fuel ratio, or timing/spark problem), not low octane fuel. The ONLY reason to use higher octane fuel is if you have detonation.
You also have water and debris in your tank all the time, and when you let your car run empty or near empty this crap gets sucked in too. No matter what, some of the water and crap will make it to your injectors and that is what is bad for them. The best thing to do IMO, is to not buy your gasoline at a bunch of different stations. Pick the station you get the best results from, and stick with that station as much as possible. I am not talking about brands, pick one store and stick with them. Find out where the fuel comes from and what is in it (ie: detergents and additives).
Edit: Try to keep your tank above 1/4 tank at all times, and IMHO this will help with trash and water getting to your injectors.

I have always read that you use the lowest octane your car will run on without knock. It makes sense if you search here or on tuners and read about it.
What I want to know, if anyone can answer, is I see and hear that other turbo DSM's say "premium unleaded fuel only". Mine just says unleaded fuel only, what's up with that?

Mine is a 1g and it says "premium unleaded fuel only". Maybe your's has different gauges that might have been swapped. Hmm..weird.

It's possible. I did take it apart because i thought the low fuel warning light burned out, turns out you can't put a bulb in that spot, really weird if you ask me. Or maybe its a 90 thing.

Hmm..my light comes on. And I bought turbo white face gauges awhile back and they dont say premium on it. The stock one's that were in did though.

I looked at the inside of the fuel door and it says "unleaded fuel only".
But the original 1990 owners manual says: "Your car will operate satisfactorily on premium unleaded gasoline having a minimum octane rating of 91. However, you may use unleaded gasoline with an octane rating of at least 87.
If prolonged heavy engine knocking (audible pinging) occurs on your car, consult your dealer."
It says also for cars without turbo to use 87, but using gas with a higher octane rating may "help to obtain better performance".

Turbocharger cars need to run premium because of the added heat that the turbo produces versus a n/t car. You don't necessarily HAVE to use it, unless you're seeing knock, it's just a precautionary that the manufacturer takes so you can't go back to them with a blown motor and say "WTF, why didn't you tell me to use premium?"
Travis, you're not necessarily right with the it's better for the injectors. It's not a "hotter burning fuel", it just has a higher resistance to temperature before it self-combusts. That's why higher performance cars use it and the n/t don't necessarily.
Violent, as for your problem, I believe there are differnet colors because one is used for carbureatred vehicles and the other one is used for fuel injected vehicles. I would check and make sure you put in the right stuff in the first place, and was your car acting up before you put that stuff in? I don't like to run additives like that unless it's absolutley necessary.
