What to paint with for fine detailing?

Wondering what the best tool and/or equipment is for fine detailed painting. Im talking about painting very small details like say, on a dash or engine bay. Ive always used a metal pin and it doesnt work too well. Ive also tried cutting a small brush down even farther so theres really only a few bristles on it. Is there a better tool? Do you experts also use a magnafying glass or anything else? Im assuming paint should be thinned down some for the smaller parts?

A very fine brush - 00000 size, a steady hand and thinner paint. But not too thin coz it will just end up flowing along any edges or lines. Just add enough thinner to increase the drying time slightly.

Use enamels, not acrylics

Try some GUNDAM marker pens...they come in a range of different colours and have nice fine tips

A sharpened toothpick works good for me.

Sharpened toothpick here, too. I've tried some small brushes, but I guess I just press too hard, so I always end up going back to toothpicks.

All good suggestions, thanks guys. Like I said Ive been using a pin but the tip is too small and all the paint seems to bead up higher than the tip. Ive tried toothpicks but never sharpened, Ill give it a try. Thanks.
