unless you're towing a trailer, there's no reason to press the OD off button.
All overdrive is is 4th gear, pressing that button disables 4th gear, which results in worse fuel economy.

To add---OD will not engage until about 40 + - mph. So the OD is shut off during in town driving anyway. It is not recommended to turn off the OD unless you are in a hilly region where the transmission is shifting from 4th to 3rd, back to 4th, back to 3rd etc. So leave the OD switch alone under normal driving environments. 40 years experience as mechanic/tech. Been working on Fords since 1986. Supervise a fleet of 1200 vehicles now. Good luck with trying to get a wife to believe you.:grinyes:
