I just got this car from my brother who replaced the drivers side door handle. I didn't have any problems until I locked the doors, then the driver door wouldn't open from outside or inside even with using the key or button on the inside of the door. Then the yesterday we tried to get into the passenger door and now it won't come open either. I didn't lock the doors this time but it still won't open. I now cannot get into the car at all as it is a 2 door. I can't have it towed to a mechanic without getting in it so what can I do. I need it fixed asap as this is my only form of transportation. Any suggestions would be GREATLY appriciated as I am at a loss. :banghead:

Could be a problem with the auto lock, locking whether you lock it or not. Like a stuck switch. Have you tried to unlock with a slim jim? If the switch keeps locking you might have to unlock and hold with the slim jim and open the door while holding the mechanism in the unlock position. If that doesn't work I don't know what to tell you without breaking something.

I will try that. I accidentally called it auto lock but I acctually meant the button on the inside of the door (power lock). Hope it works. If it doesn't what is it I can break besides the window to get in?

I have a van and those handles become very brittle in the cold. I have replaced one handle and two door locks. One door lock wouldn't accept the key and the tailgate lock came apart and required some creative inside work to get it open. Oh, and I was refering to the window. I suppose an extreme would be trying to pull the lock out with a slide hammer and trying to work the mechanism with your finger through the hole. Not sure the linkages inside would be reachable. I had a Dodge beater van that didn't have the cylinder and unlocked with my finger. Seriously, please don't break anything just because I suggested it. I am not a locksmith or glazer.

The locks as well as the door handle are on the side of the door up by the windows instead of under the window. There is really no way to get from keyhole to the locking mechanism in the middle of the door.:uhoh: We did figure out that the passanger door is just a broken door handle (exterior) So we are going to wedge the door open to pull the door handle from the inside and open the door that way the replace the handle, but we are still at a loss for the driver door. Now when you stick the key in the driver side lock it just turns and turns both clockwise and counter clockwise. But even unlocking from inside doesn't work either. Any other suggestions?

The door won't open from outside or inside though so I wouldn't be able to slam it shut but I will try to force it from the inside as soon as I can get in the other side! Boy I hope this doesn't happen too many times!!:banghead:
