Fujimi's new Impreza WRX/STI looks quite promising!

Pics on Fujimi's site reveal the parts. Looks to be a 100% new tool w/none of the nonsense of the previous sedan. Body, interior, chassis all look 1000% better. I can see the body has the correct indention on the deck lid. The hood looks like it's properly configured for the scoop. Chassis detail spanks that of Tamiya's. I only can hope the wheels are the correct diameter-the last ones were horribly undersized. BTW, Fujimi's Gallardo 'Sportec 19" rims' that are being sold as 19's scale out to 18", same can be said for the optional parts version BBS style rims in the F430 :banghead: :shakehead :nono:

Looks like the Subie is going to be a very good kit.

And the best part of the kit is it only comes with a left hand drive dash

Does look promising though, now we just need the Impreza WRX wagon and it would be perfect :)

If only they'd do the wagon...I don't hold out much hope

Of course I'd rather see them kit the JDM Forester STI :naughty:

Revell WRX's have never cost me more than $9, got one recently at Wal Mart in TN clearance priced @ $8. Excellent parts source for more than just Subaru engines and LHD dashboards  (two sets of the BBS wheels are gracing my Fujimi Mini Cooper S models).

Looking closer at this kit, especially the lenses and the window masks, I wonder if there's more truth to that statement than we might imagine. Seems like Fujimi's ready to take up Tamiya's slack...and yes, Tamiya has been very slack as of late w/no hope of improvement.

I am currently working on an old Tamiya Mazda 787B. It is a beautiful kit with full engine details, etc. I then looked at the Peugeot 307 that came through the post from HLJ and you can see that Tamiya has cut too many corners of late!! I thought the metal axles for the Impreza and 350Z was cutting corners...how wrong was I?:shakehead

I was up in the air about getting one, i'm deffinently getting three or four now :grinyes: This appears to be Fujimi's best kit yet, looks to completely new tool, which is great becouse the 03-04 WRX kit lacked alot, especially, in the body, I've seen Jelly Beans that where closer to a WRX then the old Fujimi kit. also, even though i'm let down by no RHD dash, (I expect to see a RHD version out soon, like they did with the MINI) look at that door panel detail, looks like they've caught up to Revell in that area too. Fujimi appears to be the next Tamiya

Sprue "J" has a spot for?....hopefully a LHD cowl and wipers? Notice how sprue "D" is a separte sprue...Sprue "K" has spots for something..Maybe US spec WRX ironing board wing. Hopefully the wheels won't look as horrible as the last STi's BBS:banghead: But, then agian, nothing in this kit looks like Fujimi to me so far.
OK..the way the mirrors mount to the body. I really have high hopes for this kit. Seeing this, I can only imagine what else Fujimi has up its sleeves. I am hoping for a new Legacy and an R1 or R2. PLEEEEEEEASEE!!!!!!!!

I am not a huge fan of the new airplane design grille of the new Impreza, but this kit, it looks better than Tamiya's WRX kit. I still can't stop thinking about this kit. I am having wild dreams with it! Every night now it seems(thanks Bob hehe). I am sitting there, going through the boxes(you think I would get just one of these? HA!), looking at all the parts. Getting paper cuts going through the instructions over and over agian. Will I ever build these? I would hope so..but then I wake up:(

The new Impreza kits are already making a big fuss in Japan; they're already sold out at Hobby Search!

I'm sorry, but as far as I know there won't be a WRX wagon made by Subaru this time. So there will never be a model of it either. They won't make the wagon version as it wasn't very lucrative.

Uh...I've sat in an '06 WRX wagon when my friend was in the process of buying an '06 STI and was trying to make up his mind between WRX sedan, wagon and STI. WRX wagons aren't common, but they're not gone. Hell, you can still buy a Saab 9-2X still which is an overpriced WRX wagon w/a better looking front end

And that STI is a friggin' BLAST to drive :naughty: I would get in so much trouble if I owned it.

the assembly process reminds me of the Tamiya. i guess Fujimi is stepping up their quality. teh only concern that i have is the rim size of those Spec-Cs... are they 17"s? crosses fingers!

In that case they're not sold in The Netherlands and maybe more countries in Europe. I work at the local Subaru dealership and we can't sell WRX wagons anymore. And yes! The STI is certainly a friggin BLAST to drive. A serious threat for your drivers license :D
