Hey
I just changed IAC valve today, and did not help. I also change spark plugs and cables no change.

Spark plugs and wires wouldnt cause a high idle. If they were bad, they would cause a really rough idle. Okay, the next thing I would try doing is cleaning the MAF. Theres a how-to on contour.org.

The main problem that I have run into with the contour is that the wiring harness in the engine bay has a tendency to get a little to hot and cause more problems than need be. I just got done doing an engine swap in my 95 from the 2.0 to the 2.0 zetec. I am still working out the kinks but I have run into to many wiring problems. The big relay that is connected to the fan motor may have started to go bad on yours. This will cause it to get hot a lot quicker and maybe hesitate or not start. You might try to trouble shoot some of the main relays. If the wiring has gotten hot by the main fuse box in the engine compartment the relays may not work properly. I hope that this will give you some more insight on troubleshooting.

Actually what I did is do away with the harness all together. I ran my own togglew switch and wired it myself. So far so good. Other than that I have found that the zetec runs a good bit quicker than the stock 2.0 i now all I have to do is put a new clutch in it and prove to my boss that his 3.8 litre comaro is slower than the ford. Haha its the old ordeal of chevy versus ford. Gotta love it. Thanks for the insight though.
