sc300 vs neon

I finally picked up a camcorder yesterday, so we went out to try and get a race or two. Only thing we could get was a neon. The video says it all.

I'm assuming it was a sohc, but I expected it to do better.

I'm doing videos of the storm right now. If I can get someone to help i'd like to make an sc300 vs. storm vid.

The volvo is on hold. I'm debating whether to turbo the sc300 or get the volvo. or.... just buy a manual sc300 and then start on that car. Theres one with about 52,000miles in my area. 5 speed, burgundy, 1996. A manual sc300 is very tempting to me. There about a second quicker in the 1/4 than an auto low 16s compared to low 15s.

i almost considered a neon on my list before i decided on my car, i think the 95-99 neons came with 132 and 150 hp? and their pretty light, like 2400-ish lbs, right? i wouldn't mind 150 hp in a 2400-2500 lbs car

If I remember, those 1st gen Neons had the 420A motor? Or something like that. And I heard with some bolt ons, you could get those suckers into the low 14's. I don't know, just what I remember hearing about them in the past. Could be right, could be wrong. But considerably, if a 1G neon could do that, I hold them in a higher place then I did before.

I clocked 14.5 with my first gen in my sig and it was a sohc...130hp base line

my cuz friend still has his neon. stock it ran 16.3. but with intake, headers,exhaust, tb bored and nitruous, he runs mid 13s with a 75 shot...its not bad, but now the car sounds liek shit thanks to the nitrous

I race my friends 2005 SX 2.0 all the time, he has never out ran me. My friend told me he lost to a civic a few weeks ago. So that is why i made that statment.

Well, with just those few mods and you pull off a 14.5. I'm hold the older neons in a higher respect than I did before. Still, not ever going to be a choice to purchase one, but they definitely sit higher in my eyes.

anything can be made fast.....just have to have the money and put to the right places......
