I own a 2003 cavi and im lookin to give it just a bit more power to put it up aginst a 90 integra ls with catback and full intake. My cavi has the intake but i dont want the catback because of the sound. Anyone with an ideal?.. I already have msd box, coils and plugs....

well nitrous would be nice but this is just my every day driving car so i cant do that much it has the aem full cold air and msd plug wires, distributer, and coils... i really dont wanna go any further with it mechanic wise seems as how its an every day driver but it needs a little more power. How would you say to go about taking off the rev limiter the best way?

I drive my 03 cavalier as a daily driver and even with everything ive done to it it doesnt hurt it any.if your truely wanting to beat the integra upgrade your exhaust. I whip hondas, acuras, fords, dodges and pretty much anything that isnt boosted or had 10k invested lol. It wont hurt the car any to upgrade the exhaust. I can say that you will notice a mild increase in throttle responce and speed/ or get up and go.

Go with a supercharger. It's not to expensive. You should be able to beat it then. But I have no idea about Integras.

Weight reduction will be the best bet for your application I think.

If i was to bolt a supercharger on the car i would whoop the integra yes... but wouldt i be sitting on the side of the road with a blown engine a few days after???.. lol but really i used to have a little family sedan sl2 LLo with headers, downpipe, full cat, full aem intake and oversized aftermarket cams.. i was taking cars out like nothing but i blew the car up... i never messed with the heads or the rings you know blah blah whatever, engine upgrading is kinda like a game if you upgrade this you need to upgrade that to keep it all running even under the hood unless you spend massive amounts of money on an manegment system.. And i beat the integra yesterday so im feelin pretty good, i used to whoop him in the saturn but i really never liked that little car... He thought he would talk down the cavi but i whooped him... ha!:grinyes:

You want to go fast, but you dont want to play with anything mechanical? That makes no sense homeboy, you gotta pay for power especially on a Cavy. Rev limit is there for a reason. Not only would you not be making any power past redline, you would be potentially hurting something in the engine. To make any more power, go the exhaust route. If you still need more, get ready to pay out the ass for it.

Its not that i dont want to play with anything mechanical... I have a steady job and cannot miss work no matter what happens because im looking into buying an talon tsi in the next couple a months. I also have classes to attend and if i was to maybe swap for an aem fuel rail and something went wrong with the fuel getting through the rail, i would be screwed and have a little more work ahead of me than planned and i really dont wanna mess with the cars insides... thats what the talon will be for... i just wanted to get an opinon on what else could be done to the car that wouldnt change the stock apperance and it still looked nice. I didnt want to mess with the exhaust because of the sound and i kinda like all the power it has now comming out of the stock exhaust. It gives it that full sleeper look and thats what this car will eventually be... but not now

I still believe even today one of the best bolt on ways to add extra HP is headers, or should I say header. That takes care of getting the exhaust out quicker. Remember you want to get as much fuel in as quick as you can. And than make it exit as quick as you can. So to get it in a nice intake, bigger throttle body, see where I am going? Than to get it out, Header with a compimentary exhaust, which starts out with the header it breaths a heck of alot better...

^^^ I think you mean air not fuel.

I agree 100% with what cujotom said, intake, TB, P+P, cams, header, full exhaust, motor mounts, underdrive pulley, port the intake manifold. With those mods the good ole "butt dyno" sould feel pretty good.
