Privateer Peugeot 307 WRC Decals?

Just wondering if anybody in the know has heard any news of aftermarket decals for Tamiya's 307 WRC? Relented and bought one the other day and fancy the orange livery run by Henning Solberg's Team Kronos car.

I've not heard of any decals but I'm sure Studio 27 or someone will produce some before long.I nearly bought the Peugeot myself the other day in my local hobby store but thought £29.99 was a bit steep!! Add on the photoetch parts and it's even more.Might consider one from the online hobby stores it always works out a lot cheaper.Steve.

Thanks guys. Good news about Renaissance. I also checked the S27 news page and they have the three privateer 307s from this year's Monte listed as possibilities. Hopefully Mike Quaterman of UMI Graphics is working on the artwork as we speak. :)

Dunno about Renaissace, but the S27 homepage is http://www.studio27.co.jp, most of it is in Japanese.

For the most part you don't need to. Little clues like "307" and "Expert" tell you all you need to know. :)

Studio 27 have released the details of their forthcoming decal sheets on their website. Still no sign of the Renaissance ones. Looks like I'll be building a rally car again soon, can't wait to get started on on Henning's orange whale. :)

Unfortunately, the US doesn't seem to carry the WRC on any channels anymore. And that leaves me kinda out of the loop. Is that Henning Solberg's orange car?
I must get those OMV decals. What team is Loeb running with now?

Yep, the orange car is driven by Henning, Petter Solberg's big brother. Seb Loeb is still driving for Citroen, or rather the "satellite" Kronos team before the works team returns with the C4 next year.

Yup, not too many differences I can see to update the Tamiya Works Monte '05 kit to Bozian Monte '06. Just the wheels and seats. Former will be tricky given that Tamiya have changed their rims from male to female. If that can be solved a 15 spoke set from a latter 206 WRC kit will be perfect. For the seats Tamiya only provide a single seat with head protection, but both Solberg and his co-driver, Menkerud, use that type this year.
I think Stol's car is the same. Gardemeister and Burri used the 10 spoke wheels, dunno about their seats.

Will actually be interesting to see how he will go against Stohl. Might just show how competitive/uncompetitive the pirellis really are.

Any idea which team is running Galli, wonder if he will be doing any more events with a Mitsubishi? I would be very surprised to see an improvement in the Pirellis, they've been shocking on sealed surfaces for a long time now. Gronholm sure must be happy he could return to the Michelin/BF Goodrich rubber this year. If he and Ford can remain mistake free this weekend they might just give Loeb a run for his money at home in Corsica. Heres hoping for an exciting rally! :)

Looks like the car is a Bozian car. Apparently Hennig's car from Norway. Will compete also in Argentina. Rumour mill is working overtime suggesting that he will compete the rest of the year for Pirelli in a Xsara. Woohooo another Xsara scheme to build.

Yeah Mal, the OMV Team Norway is an M2 team so only registered for points in 10 pre-nominated rallys. Stohl is therefore only elegible for drivers points in Catalunya and Corsica. Solberg will be back in the second car at Argentina as you say.

Sorry Phil, you misunderstood. Galli is running the Pirelli car in Argentina as well. Would not mind betting Pirelli are trying to find out if Subaru is the problem, not Pirelli. He is the one the rumour mill is working on.
I also apologise for the partial hijacking of this thread. Original posting was about the car's colour schemes.
Here is a photo of Hennig's car at Monte. Should help with painting details such as rear spoiler.

Years ago I saw a company sold a basic NASCAR kit with aftermarket decals in the box, for a little more than the price of a regular kit (A Ford Thunderbird and the Mark Martin Winn Dixie decals to be specific). I'm surprised nobody has tried this, buying just the plastic from Tamiya and throwing in an aftermarket decal set and other parts.
If they priced it even a little below what it costs to sell the kit and the decals, they'd probably do more business, and gaurantee themselves a bigger piece of the pie, since people won't necessarily buy the decals AND the kit from them.
As is happening with the new Model King releases, model companies will do pretty much anything you want if you buy enough of them up front (Over the past 2 years Model King has commissioned I believe AMT to pull some of their old dirt-track and dragster molds out of storage and make them slew of different models. If you buy enough of them to make it worth their time, they will do it, since they aren't affected by what happens to them after you take delivery).

I notice Renaissance have the colours on the BF Goodrich tyre decals reversed for some weird reason. On the plus side, those pics do have the "Bozian Racing" decals for the seat that Studio 27 missed. I've got the S27 Solberg sheet and it looks superb, but I guess I'll have to get the Renaissance one too to fill out some small details. :)

Actually picking the right shade of orange is something I'm a bit worried about. The picture of the Renaissance build up does look too red, but it would be easy to err the other way too. Probably pay to start off with a lighter coat of paint then darken further coats if necessary.

Aim for that (of course, a lot depends on monitor settings and your perception, but that's true in most cases anyway).

Ah so that is the basis of the orange, thanks Alex.
Thanks too Mal. S27 cunningly leave the orange on the expert star clear so it will take the body colour. I'll go for something a bit darker that the orange on the "EnPro" logo. I was going to use Modeler's Orange, but am now leaning towards GSI Creos Orange, which is a bit lighter.
